System Dynamics, by Sharon-Drew Morgen

The field of System Dynamics is committed to helping clients resolve large-scale problems through systems thinking. But despite the practitioner’s creative, important work, clients have difficulty implementing the findings.

Given my work with systemic change that originates in the HOW, in the neural circuits where all behaviors/decisions/actions get triggered, they invited me to run several seminars to introduce my work.

Different from working with the WHAT/WHY the SD practitioners are accustomed to, and before helping clients or practitioners understand a problem and how the elements work together, my Implementation Facilitation model is based on getting to the originating neural circuits where the offending behaviors were triggered and make changes at the source.

The core premise of enabling client implementation is based on Meadow’s 1-5: all change must arise from, and match, the values and norms the originating system including:

  1. helping the client assemble the appropriate stakeholders
  2. identify their core structure – beliefs, norms, rules, values
  3. agree to new goals based on their structure
  4. understand their risk of change
  5. agree to buy-in and mange any change going forward.

Here are the videos from the seminars.
